Here at A Janitor's Story® Shop (“Shop”), I, Stacey Freeman d/b/a A Janitor’s Story® (“Owner”) is committed to protecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy is to inform you of the personal data collected and how it may be used. This statement only applies to this Shop. If you purchase from this Shop, you agree to the Owner's practices described in this Privacy Policy.

EMAIL COLLECTION:

When you submit your personal information via a sign-up form to receive access in order to complete a purchase in the Shop, you voluntarily submit your name, email address and occasionally your phone number.

Information collected from others: The Owner may receive information about you from other sources. For example, if you use a third-party software to purchase, they may transfer information to the Owner for fulfillment. (It's your payment processor.) 

Automatically-collected information: The Owner automatically collects certain information about you and the device with which you access the Shop. For example, when you use the Shop, the Owner can log your IP address, operating system type, browser type, referring website, pages you viewed, and the dates/times when you accessed the Shop. The Owner may also collect information about actions you take when using the Shop, such as links clicked.

Cookies: The Owner may log information using cookies, which are small data files stored on your browser by the Shop. The Owner may use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted, to provide you with a more personalized experience in the Shop.

Email marketing: The Owner may send you emails about the shop and related content, product updates and weekly tips. The Owner may also use your email to survey you about your usage or collect your opinion. Purchasing from the Shop also transfers your email address to Active Campaign and is used for delivery of product updates and newsletters.

SMS marketing:  By signing up via text you agree to receive recurring automated marketing messages and shopping cart reminders from the Shop at the phone number provided. WHY YOUR NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER ARE COLLECTED:

Email and SMS is the backbone of most online marketing. The Owner will take care to ensure that your personal data is used in a respectful manner, and will keep your information confidential. The Owner will not sell or share your email and phone number information. 

Here’s why your name, email address, and phone number are collected and used:

  1. To create your account and identify you as a purchaser.
  2. To send you your purchased digital products.
  3. To send you weekly email newsletters in which you can unsubscribe at any time.
  4. To send you administrative communications, such as but not limited to sign-up confirmations, promotions, notices, and updates on digital products, policies, and membership information.
  5. To offer you support.

Your name, email address, and phone number are currently housed inside an email marketing system, ActiveCampaign.com. Your IP address may also be stored. If at any time you would like your personal information to be removed, or you would like to exercise your right to be forgotten, please contact the Owner at stacey@ajanitorsstory.com.


INFORMATION SHARED:

The Owner will only share information as a legality to process a subpoena or a court order to protect the rights of the Shop. The Owner does not sell or give your name, email address, or mobile number to third parties. 

The Shop is hosted by Shopify, the e-commerce platform that allows the Owner to sell products/services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify's data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. How Shopify uses your personal information is subject to Shopify's Privacy Policy and their Privacy for Customers Policy.

If you make a purchase in the Shop, a third party payment processor such as Shopify Payments or PayPal is used. Payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as necessary to complete your purchase transaction.

Additionally, the Shop may use third-party service providers to service various aspects of the Shop. Each third-party service provider’s use of your personal information is dictated by their respective privacy policies. The Shop currently uses the following third-party service providers:

Google Analytics – this service tracks the Shop's usage and provides information such as referring websites and user actions in the Shop. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured by Google Analytics.

Stripe – this service is used to serve this e-commerce platform. At no time is your banking information passed to the Shop. Your information is only used for order fulfillment.

PayPal – this service is used to serve this e-commerce platform. At no time is your banking information passed to the Shop. Your information is only used for order fulfillment.

Active Campaign – this service is used for delivery of email updates and newsletters. Your name, email address and phone number is stored for purposes of delivering communications (orders and emails).

Facebook Pixel – this service is used to track your actions in the Shop for the purposes of promotional retargeting via Facebook and Instagram ads. You may op-out with Facebook.

Pinterest Tag – this service is used to track your actions in this Shop for the purposes of promotional retargeting via Pinterest ads. You may opt-out with Pinterest.

Google Drive – this service may collect your name, email address, location (city and state), and IP address when you fill out any Google Form, Google Doc, or Google Sheet from this Shop. 

 

AFFILIATE PROGRAMS:
The Shop may engage in affiliate marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links in the Shop. If you click on a link for an affiliate partnership, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions.

Stacey Freeman d/b/a A Janitor's Story® is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and links to Amazon.com.

 

CHILDREN'S INFORMATION

The Shop does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 16. If a parent or guardian believes that the Shop has personally identifiable information of a child under the age of 16 in its database, please contact the Owner immediately at stacey@ajanitorsstory.com.
